Is it true that whispering is worse for your voice than normal speech?

Question:
Answers:
Absolutely.especially if you are already suffering from a hoarse voice &/or sore throat. It’s hard to not speak at all, but you will definitely recover much more quickly if you keep your lips sealed!

My vocal coach for choir said it was. has something to do with it taking more air and pressure to whisper than to talk.

Your normal voice is always better on your vocal chords. Excessive whispering and yelling are equally as bad for your vocal chords. It causes you to strain your chords to acquire the sound that you want. Where speaking in a normal voice doesn’t put strain on the chords because it’s what they are designed to do naturally.
