Title: HIV and AIDS Prevention for Children and Youth in Areas of Highest Risk in Western Visayas Region Location: Categories: Status: In Progress Timeline: Ongoing Description: KGPP, Inc. or Gabay is a youth-led, non-profit, non-government grassroots organization working directly with children and youth who transcended abuse, exploitation, violence and poverty. Background: KGPP was founded on May 1999 by 18 Iloilo City Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) youth development leaders during the peer counseling in positive lifestyle promotion seminar in the Province of Guimaras. Since most members ended their tenure as PYAP officers, the group decided to become DSWD’s arm to reactivate, strengthen and organize PYAP chapters in the Region VI and to raise funds and sustain some important activities and best practices of the PYAP. The group became a pool of youth development leaders and peer counselors that move around in the region to promote positive social change. The group was later known as GABAY, which means Guide. Gabay sustained projects such as the HIV/AIDS Youth Advocacy Package or HAYAP on Tour, which is the winning project entry where Gabay was awarded as one of the most outstanding youth organization
